CHARACTER AND FOLLOWERSHIP. 1

Joshua1:1-2 After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying:2″Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them-the children of Israel. Buck passing and blame trading on leaders is one of the stock in trade that has taken over the social media in recent time. Nearly everyone is now blogging against those things they are not comfortable with from the leadership sphere of either at the local level, or national level. This is not peculiar to the Government alone, it is also extended to the private establishments. From our focal scripture, Joshua rose to prominence through faithful servanthood. Character of a person reveals the nature and principles by which such a person lives his or her life. A good and faithful follower is on his or her way to become a prominent leader. Had it been that Joshua skipped the tutelage of leadership he received from the position of followership, I’m very sure the opportunity of leading Israel wouldn’t have beckoned on him. What has the Lord committed to your hand? How disposed are you to that assignment characterwise? Do you think your effort at the moment is not commensurate with what is expected of you? Godly character is required at this juncture if you are found wanting. Stop hiding under such excuses as “my boss is not committed, so why should I”. God character bound followership is a future investment that will advocate on your behalf when it your turn to be celebrated. It is my prayer that God shall reward your labour of Love in Jesus name.
