CHARACTER AND FOLLOWERSHIP. 2

2nd Kings 2: 14 Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and said, “Where is the Lord God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over. Good morning and a prosperous February to you all, God shall satisfy you with His goodness in this month. We have been considering different kind of “ships” and currently followership is what we are focusing on. Followership is not a relegation, neither is it deprivation of honour, but it is a path to greater honour if treaded with Godliness, commitment and integrity. Elisha was mocked and called unprintable names. He was adjudged a day dreamer. Is that not what people have been calling you in order to dissuade you from getting rewarded as a good follower? Elisha character was intact and he was unperturbed. Gehazi missed it because he decided to help himself the wrong way. His master wouldn’t hear of extortion, but Gehazi was an extortionist. His character was bad and he managed to pretend for so many years, but that wouldn’t last as his smelling character oozed out. His act of disobedience made him to loose all. It will be good you deal with those things that will deal with you later in life before it is too late. Samuel would have joined Eli’s children to commit whoredom in Israel, but he choose to remain a good follower. He decided not to get discouraged even while Eli, his master was already discouraged and had given up on his calling. Call to serve is actually a call to lead. You will not trade your reward of followership in Jesus name. Connect with me via:@4losolution or @Adeyemi_ma
